Big bike-history exhibition in Trois Rivieres

There is an excellent exhibition of "bicycle history and culture" at the museum of popular culture in downtown Trois Rivieres (a.k.a. Three Rivers).

I visited this excellent "Accro Velo" exhibition(that's "Hooked on bikes" in english) (francais web page) at the Musee des culture populaire in Trois Rivieres.

This is an excellent history of cycling exhibition with 20-30 very historic bicycles. At least a dozen of these are older than the year 1900!

These hugely historic bicycles are from the collection of Canada's National Museum of Science and Technology.

My digicam videos of my visit (showing ALL the historic bikes):
  • Bicycle history part 1 (link)
  • Bicycle history part 2 (link)
  • Video of a highly dangerous looking ice-unicycle (link)
  • All my google videos (link)

This is an truly excellent exhibit with at least 30 historic bikes from Canada's National Museum of Science and Technology.

There is tons of other stuff about bike culture also.

It's a great activity and not too far from Montreal.

The museum is quite something and also includes a prison you can visit. It is located at the edge of historic "old" Trois Rivieres near the water front. It's actually quite a nice place to visit.

Go there this weekend.

Trois Rivieres is less than 90 car-driving minutes from Montreal. There is good cycling there: both as a destination and on both sides of the St- Laurence river in between.
