Who needs brakes? Bicycle riders, that's who.

Brakeless bike shop for brainless riders (death is forever dudes).

Are you cool, dangerous, and and a hazard to those around you?

Now you can buy a bike that exactly mimics these lifestyle traits.
If you ride without brakes, then be sure to carry your carte soleil (medicare card) with you, cuz you're going to need it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday you will have just the kind of situation where stopping rapidly could save your life. And you won't be able to stop in time. Crunch. And you will learn many things about pain and the inside of an emergency ward. Despite your attitude of carefree f-the-world nihilism, somebody and probably quite a few people do care if you live or die.

What the hell is this? People should stop worrying about how cool they look. Who wants to support a bike shop that s focusing on trends and "street style" instead of actually building bikes that are safe and reliable?

Anon, you're not getting the point. Riding fixed is a challenge, just like stunting with a BMX or MTB is. It's not entirely about being cool, minimalism is a lifestyle for many, a fixie expresses this.

If you want a safe bike, go to your bike shop and buy a prebuilt. Some people like to do things differently, deal with it.

its called art and having fun with it, not just building it up to get to point b -_-

Fixed gear are safer! You must be aware of everything. I like the fact that i can build a bike as i wish! And by the way, they are more reliable to :-)

I ride fixed and have found that can stop almost as fast by skidding my rear tire as I can on a bike with a brake; I've never had any problems stopping stopping in emergencies. I ride fixed because I enjoy it; it's not a tricked out ride - just a basic old road frame with a fixed wheelset. I don't oppose the idea of riding with a front brake but I also don't agree with the idea that riding brakeless is dangerous. I find the brakeless vs. brakes debate frustrating; I think someone should ride according to their preference provided they know how to do so safely - the more people ride bikes as opposed to cars the better it is for everyone

A) A fixed can still be a challenge and have a brake.
B) Constantly braking with your legs will ruin you knees faster than the IRA with a Black & Decker drill.
C) If it's art, leave it hanging on your wall.
D) Riding according to your preference is all well and good, until you become a hazard for other cyclists, motorists, pedestrians and yourself.
E) Riding brakeless is like riding without a helmet: it doesn't mean you're going to crash and die, but you are still riding with an increased risk solely for aesthetic reasons.

Also, if you claim to be able to stop as fast with skidding as you can with brakes, you either have brakes from the 70s that have never been maintained, or you're riding at speeds that are close to jogging.

Bikes without brakes are great if you don't go fast. It's ok to be a chicken, and if you don't have brakes, well, brawk bwrawk!

But we like to go fast. So we need brakes. Zoom Zoom.

fixed gear doesn't mean brakeless at all. FYI, you can design your fixie online at red2 bicycle.
